This invention disclosure notification form is intended for notifying of inventions, software (when applicable) and innovation ideas created at the University of Eastern Finland. Further information on how to
fill out this form can be obtained from Innovation Manager or Business Development Advisors at Entrepreneurship and Innovation Services, and inventors are requested to contact them already before filling
out the form to ensure that the invention disclosure notification form will contain sufficient information.

4. Detailed description of the invention (on a separate appendix)
A more detailed description of the invention is given on a free format appendix, which should contain
sufficient information in order for the university to evaluate the invention. The following questions
should be answered in the detailed description:
 To which problem the invention provides a solution?
 How has the invention been implemented and what is its current development stage?
 Principle of the invention, e.g., how does the described method and/or device work? The appendix
should include all the available invention-related figures, drawings, data, test results, etc.
 Describe any known/published solutions to the problem, i.e. what is the prior art in the field of the invention, and what benefits/problems the invention has in comparison to previous solutions/prior art?
 What are the economical, technical or commercial benefits of the invention? What is the added
value of the invention and its commercial potential?
 What other applications the invention has? Identify the primary and most important one.

10. Contact information and signatures of the inventors
By signing this information disclosure notification form, the inventors authorise the University of Eastern
Finland to engage in invention-related confidential negotiations and to obtain expert statements, if the
University of Eastern Finland does not already have this right by the Act on Inventions at HEI or by
agreements relating to the invention. The university shall ensure that the parties and experts are
obliged to observe confidentiality. The inventors also commit to delivering and signing all the necessary
documents and helping the university to the best of their ability during a possible protection process.
All inventors of the University of Eastern Finland shall sign the invention disclosure notification.
The inventors assure that the information pertaining to the invention and inventors given in this invention disclosure notification is correct and complete.
