There was an opportunity to get on court with like minded people
Leisure centres offered ‘single sex’ court time
I got rewarded for playing regularly
I knew I was going to get a proper work out & play competitively
It fitted more easily into my daily routine
I could bring a friend along to play for free
My children could be entertained whilst I am on court
If there were more opportunities to play near me
It was more sociable and less about scoring points/winning games
I could sit out a few points, have a chat & drink then join in again when I’m ready
General perceptions on badminton…
Badminton is a fun sport to play
Playing badminton makes me feel like I am healthy and active
When I play badminton with friends we always go for a drink afterwards
Music should be played in sports halls - badminton courts are too cold and quiet
I don’t think I get a good enough work out when I play badminton
Badminton is not a sport that young people play
I don’t feel comfortable playing badminton with a group of strangers
The idea of playing in a badminton club environment intimidates me
Badminton is a cheap sport to play
