At some point during the semester, you may
need help beyond that of your teacher. There
are tutoring options available at Temple
College.
1. You can meet with a tutor faceto-face or
2. You can receive tutoring online
All of the tutoring options listed here are FREE - that’s right,
F-R-E-E …. FREE!
There are at least two English tutoring options
available to students at Temple College, and
they are The Educational Assistance Center
{EAC} and The Writing Center.
The EAC tutors are available to assist primarily
developmental students with their class
assignments, such as proof-reading an essay,
explaining grammar rules, or finding the main
idea of a passage. EAC tutors also help prepare
students to take entrance tests, HESI Admission
Assessment, and HOBET V (5). The Writing
Center is available to help students in
developmental and credit classes with the
writing process, including planning,

proofreading, and citations.
There are many math tutoring options available
at Temple College.
There are math tutors available in the EAC. The
EAC provides math tutoring on
general developmental math topics. The
Mathematics Tutorial Lab provides you great
tutoring
both at main campus and the Taylor and Hutto
Centers. These tutors are familiar with
MyMathLab.

If you do not have the time or luxury to visit a
campus to utilize one of the tutoring options,
you can seek eTutoring.

Temple College students have tutoring options
available for Basic Math Skills, Algebra,
Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus. These
options are available seven days a week,
twenty-four hours a day through the TC
SmarThinking website. A list for times that
tutors are available for English and other
subjects can be found at
http://www.smarthinking.com SmarThinking is
a wonderful free tutoring tool that you have
available to you. Go ahead and register for this
tutoring service so that the option is available to
you when you need it.

If you have a need for general help with TC
Webmail, TConnect, or Desire2Learn (D2L), you
can seek help from the eLearning Department
staff. The eLearning offices are located on the
north side of the Arnold Student Center (ASC)
Another place to go for general help with TC
Email, Office 365, TConnect, Desire2Learn
(D2L) and MyLabsPlus (MLP) is in Watson
Technical Center (WTC) where a computer lab
attendant is available. This lab is located in
room 501 in the Watson Technical Center.
Tutoring
is available from early morning until evening
time, Monday through Thursday and on Friday
mornings.
