Task activity Student’s read the Little Duckling Story 20 with popcorn reading (one student will read a couple of lines from the story, then call on a different student to pick up where they left off. Students will take turns reading until the story is finished. While students are reading, the teacher will check for comprehension by asking questions. Students are encouraged to make a note of any words they do not understand. Post-task activities In pairs, students will complete the 10 comprehension questions. She is tired and is often stressed from so many responsibilities. Task activity In pairs of two students, make a list of 5 – 7 things your mother does that you appreciate. Students share their responses with class with a ball throw activity. Teacher will write on the board while the students speak out loud. Create a coupon book of chores that your mother will not have to have to do for a few days, because you want to show your appreciation for her hard work. 20 Post-task activities Students will share their coupon books with the classroom.
