Special Assembly for Reception and Year 1
Brian Drury, Site Manager of the new Nursery building project
will be holding an assembly for Year 1 and Reception children
to show them some safety equipment, talk about the building
project and to introduce a drawing competition linked to the
new Nursery building project.
We will be taking photographs during this assembly. If you do
not wish your child to be photographed please let us know.
Expansion Update
Our new Nursery building is due to be installed on Friday 1st April. There may be some disruption on
Vernon Road due to the size of the vehicles transporting it.
Mother’s Day Lunch – Wednesday 6th April
Last year we started celebrating Mother’s Day with the mothers and carers of

This year, too, we would like you to join us for lunch.
 Date: 6 April
 Time: 12.00 noon (11.40 am for the Reception children)
 Price: £3.00 (alternatively, you can bring your own packed lunch)

lunchtime in the playground. Please book your lunch by Monday 4th April.
This invitation is translated into Turkish, Polish, Russian, Lithuanian, Urdu, Gujerati and Bengali
at the end of the newsletter.

April at 9:10 and 10:00. So, start thinking creatively about how you can decorate your

Homework Policy
You should have received a draft homework policy, survey and covering letter today.
We really want to know what you think and every completed survey will be entered into a prize
draw with a £20 Matalan gift voucher for the lucky name picked out at random on the closing date
for the survey Friday 8th April.
Top Table
I sat at Top Table this week with Christopher and his
guests Edvin and Pavel from Year 2.
There was a great deal of conversation about football.
Chris told me that he is learning a new language on
Sundays that no one else in his family knows. I was
intrigued!
I wonder who will be joining me on Top Table next week.

Suggestion Box
There were three suggestions in the box this week.
Can we, Year 3, play in the pitch if we are not allowed to play football but it is our day?
The reason you lost your football day is due to a number of Year 3 making the wrong choices. If
Year 3 make the right choices they get to play football and use the pitch.
Can we please have more trips (Year 6). This is our last year and some people are not going to PGL
so it’s not that fair?
We do have some exciting events planned for people who do not go to PGL. If you would like your
teachers to organise other visits you will need to ask them. Maybe they are waiting to see how
people are behaving after SATs.
At the end of term can we have a non uniform day or a holiday?
You will definitely get a holiday at the end of term!!
I look forward to reading your suggestions next week.
