ACRL Core Values TF: Survey Results Some Points Jean Pulled from the Summary to Consider 81% “believe that ACRL should advocate for, promote, and provide support on issues such as intellection freedom and professional ethics”; However, 75% reported low use of ACRL as their source for IF and ethics information, because of “scarce and sporadic provision of resources” in this area. “As an alternative, respondents often noted ALA as their most common source.” TS Survey discussion continued… There was interest in ACRL provision of educational info for IF & ethics including (in this order): Webcasts Conference Programming Training Resources White Papers TF Survey Tables Ranked: Table 1 TF Survey Tables Ranked chart in the results packet indicated that of the organizational ways ACRL might work with ALA, these options were considered and ranked by the respondents as follows: Partner with ALA Committees: 49% Committees: 40% Pool of member experts: 35% Advise ACRL Board: 24% Awards: 18% 3. Ethics Committee 2012-13 Work Plan Our goal for the year is to establish an online forum for ACRL members to discuss ethical issues. Time line. January, 2013. Open the forum for discussion. Jan. – May, 2013. Promote the forum May, 2013. Assess the success & report to ACRL board. Options? Blog Wiki Listserv Facebook Other Who has tech skills and time to set it up?
