Players and Parents Code of Conduct
The actions of our members are a reflection of themselves, their teams, the Gordon Head at Lambrick
Park Baseball Association (GHLPBA), the Greater Victoria Baseball Association (GVBA), and our
community. Involvement in baseball provides opportunities and experiences that are important to the
development of well- rounded individuals; however, players and parents must remember that their
participation in baseball and functions of the GHLPBA and related associations is a privilege, not a right.
Accordingly, players and parents agree to:
 Treat everyone (especially teammates, coaches, opponents, umpires, event organizers, and
spectators) with respect;
 Respect and accept with dignity the decisions of officials, the GHLPBA, and the GVBA;
 Be generous and humble in winning and graceful in losing;
 Exercise self-control at all times;
 Refrain from throwing equipment in disgust (bat, helmet, glove, or any other object);
 Refrain from the use of physical force outside of the rules of the game;
 Refrain from unsportsmanlike gestures, talk, language, or profanity. Taunting or teasing players
and coaches on the opposing team, umpires, spectators, or league executives is not acceptable;
 Remember that there is no place in baseball for drugs, performance enhancing drugs or
supplements, alcohol or tobacco products;
 Follow the guidelines set forth by your coach for your team and program;
 Follow the guidelines set forth by the GHLPBA and GVBA for players and teams in the GHLPBA;
 Play fair and in accordance with both the letter and the spirit of the rules of the GHLPBA at all
times.
Should the player break any of the above rules, the GHLPBA and/or the GVBA reserves the right to take
disciplinary actions within reason up to and including expulsion from the association. All circumstances will
be taken into account in disciplinary proceedings with incidents and individuals either on or off the field.

Waiver Reminder

I/We, the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the above named minor (the Minor), in consideration of the acceptance
of the Minor for a position on a Gordon Head Lambrick Park Baseball Association (GHLPBA) team,
hereby agree to uphold and abide by the constitution, by-laws, policies and procedures of the GHLPBA
and give my/our approval for the Minor to participate in baseball and in ANY AND all related GHLPBA
activities. I/We assume all risks and hazards incidental to such participation including transportation to and
from activities and I/we do hereby waive, release, absolve, indemnify and agree to hold harmless the
GHLPBA, the Greater Victoria Baseball Association (GVBA), B.C. Baseball Association (BCBA), Canadian
Federation of Amateur Baseball (CFAB), and the organizers, sponsors, supervisors, coaches, umpires
and all other persons participating in GHLPBA activities, including those persons transporting the Minor to
and from activities, for, from and against any claim arising out of any injury to the Minor, whether the result
of negligence or for any other cause, except to the extent and in the amount covered by accident or
liability insurance. Further if the Minor shall happen to be injured during a GHLPBA activity, or in the
process of traveling to or from such activity, I hereby give permission for the Minor to be administered any
emergency medical treatment as shall be required and hereby give my permission to have such
emergency medical treatment administered at the scene, at a doctor's office, or at a hospital if such
becomes necessary. I/We will furnish a certified birth certificate of the above named player to the
GHLPBA, GVBA, BCMBA or CFAB, should it be required. I/We agree to allow GHLPBA to collect, use and
publicly disclose my child's name, voice and/or image for purposes related to the programs and activities
of the GHLPBA. I/We agree to receive emails from the GHLPBA news and updates regarding the
programs and activities of the GHLPBA. I/We agree to receive emails from sponsors containing news and
updates related to the sponsorship of our organization, discounts, and product promotions. I understand
that I can withdraw my consent to receive promotional emails at any time. Should you have any questions
