The StrongVet Hero’s Tribute is the first of its kind online app giving family members, friends and colleagues the ability to honor any active duty service member, Fallen Hero, reservist or veteran (living or deceased) they love, respect and want to acknowledge. “At a time when our military servicemen and women, and their family members have and continue to endure the longest combat operations in American history, we felt it was important to give our region a meaningful way to say thank you to those who have and continue to sacrifice and serve”, says Roy Cheran, the Executive Director of Operation StrongVet. “In addition to honoring our military servicemen and women, the StrongVet Hero’s Tribute (tribute.strongvet.org) chronicles one’s service record in a way that helps mark our nation’s historical timeline. Through the individual service members’ experiences, we begin to understand each generation’s contribution to support and defend the freedoms we continue to enjoy as Americans”, added Cheran. At the same time it provides families with an historical reference of their loved-ones sacrifice to our nation. Each Hero’s Tribute will be indexed on the app’s Hero’s Tribute Wall, where all are categorized by last name and age and can be easily searched by visitors. Each Hero’s Tribute can contain historical service records (including branch of service, tours of duty, rank, etc.), hometown, date of birth, a personal reflective story of that Hero’s service, personal life and more. The information can even be updated as desired. Operation StrongVet is encouraging Individuals and organizations in the region to visit tribute.strongvet.org to create a Hero’s Tribute for a current active-duty service member or veteran they know. They organization is requesting a $20.00 contribution in return for the Hero’s Tribute. “We are hopeful that everyone in our region will take advantage of the opportunity to honor an important service member they know with a Hero’s Tribute. Each one that is created helps fund valuable programs and services for a large underserved veterans’ population in our region and provides the opportunity to recognize and support those who sacrificed for our freedoms!”, Cheran concluded.
