Lori suggested tweaking the text a bit so that breast cancer is not seen as sole focus, and that other cancers, esp. colon will be addressed too. Tamara agreed and thought that might help broaden the appeal. There is a new Nebraska Cancer Screening Initiative that is being launched with the goal of increasing breast and colon cancer screening rates by promoting evidencebased clinical practices. Lori said this seminar complements that initiative and maybe the two could be cross-promoted. Tamara volunteered to make some connections. So far, 8 telehealth sites are signed up for the seminar and Lori is feeling pretty good about coverage in southeastern and Central Nebraska. We would still like a couple of sites to sign on in western and Northeastern parts of the state. That could still happen after registration begins if there is physician/clinic interest from those areas. “Packaging” Resource Materials Discussion revolved around whether we should do a resource notebook for seminar participants, provide links, or do a combo of both. Christian asked if we were looking for resources for clinicians or patients and Lori said both. An afternoon workshop scheduled on June 9 for community health workers could also benefit from a list of patient resources. Meeting participants seemed to be of the mindset that we should: Compile and distribute a few pages of annotated links* for seminar participants (rather than print documents from the links and put them in a big binder) Make sure these links are included in the Provider Education section of the website and/or upload annotated link document to website Send an electronic copy of annotated links pages to participants as a follow-up Place samples of actual tools on tables at the seminar/telehealth sites for individuals to review Susan suggested that during the segment of the seminar when we will review the resources, we can show examples that address common challenges. Lori thought Drs. Cody and Ellis could help us identify the tools they think would be most compelling for participants. Timeline Work group members began to suggest potential resource ideas and Lori asked that links be sent to by April 15. She said this could be extended and the draft timeline adjusted accordingly since minimal printing and assembly will be required with the suggested format. (Susan said some health literacy information might be late as it could result from activities at the April 27 Cancer Summit.) Once Lori and Teri compile the annotated list of links, it will be reviewed by Carolyn Cody and Michelle Ellis. Once the list is formatted, it will be forwarded to all work group members for final review before printing and posting to the website. If new links come in after the list is printed, they would also be posted to the Partnership website. Orgs/Event/Programs suggested to help promote the seminar and who has contacts: BCBS Nebraska (Tamara) NC2 Cancer Summit (Tamara, Susan, Lori) Dr. Rauner/Nebraska Cancer Initiative (Tamara) SERPA (Tamara, Lori) HCAN/Federally Qualified Health Centers (Tamara) Nurse Practitioner Association (Lori) Nebraska Medical Association (Mary Jo Gillespie) Natalie questioned whether clinicians etc., would be interested in accessing the info/links provided to them. Susan said that if it is proven to help them in their work, they will. Lori said that this is why it will be great having other credible sources promoting this event. Dr. Ellis has said that the “PatientProvider Partnership” is a hot topic that is linked to patient-centered care/medical home. Lori said she hopes this this seminar is not a one shot thing, but rather that the topic stays current and is reinforced moving forward in other activities. Christian asked how Lori would like suggestions for website reorganization to be conveyed and Lori said she would welcome input by phone or email.
