TheRockinghamSwimmingClubisafastgrowingswimmingclubthathasaproudhistoryin
excessof60years.RecentlyRockinghamSwimmingClubhascommittedtotheWAIS
SouthernHighPerformanceTrainingCentreprogram.Theclubmanagementseesthe
opportunitytohireaheadcoachwiththedesiretocontinuetocreateastrongunderpinning
club,ultimatelyhelpingtoplaceswimmersintotheHighPerformancetrainingcenter.
Resultsoverthepastthreeyearshaveseenasteadyimprovementwithclubrankingsat
nationalage/openandopenwaterchampionships.Furthersuccesswilloccurwiththe
commitment&guidanceofadedicatedcareer-mindedcoachwhoisabletoembraceateam
culturethatalreadyexistswithintheclub.Therolerequiresaclearvisionandleadershipto
drivetheclub’ssuccessatjunior,stateandnationallevel.
TheRole
Theclubcurrentlycatersforapproximately250swimmersyearround,fromjuniorto
NationalAgesquads.Theselectedcandidate’srolewillbetomanagetheprogramandcoach
theNationalAgesquad.Thiswillincludementoringandup-skillingjuniorcoaches,ensuring
thesmoothrunningofthejuniorprogramandbeingaccountableforclubresultsatastate
andnationallevel.
• She/hewillworkcollaborativelywiththeWAISHighPerformancecoach,andwillbe
involvedinhelpingjuniorcoachesfeedswimmersintothesquad.Thiswillinclude
pooldecktimecoaching/instructingjuniorswimmersinpreparationforprogression
andmentoringjuniorcoachestoensurecontinuitythroughouttheprogram.
• Thesuccessfulcandidatewillbeastrongleaderwhoiswillingtoworkwithmany
stakeholders,includingSwimmingWA,WAISandtheclubcommitteeandcan
providedirectionandguidancetotheclubandcoachingteam.
• Therolewillhaveapproximately25hoursofpooldecktime,plusadditionaltime
requiredtomanage,planandmonitortheprogram.
• Thepositionwillrequirepooldecktimeassistinginsupportingthejuniorprogram
(upto6hoursperweek)andalsoasurfsquad/fitnessprogram(3hoursperweek).
• Thesuccessfulcandidatemustshowanunderstandingofwhatitwillrequiretotake
ownershipoftheclub,leadingtotheachievementofgrowthandresults.Thiswill
includeparentandcommitteeeducationinrelationtotheprogram’sobjectivesand
direction.
TheHeadCoachwillworkinconjunctionwiththeWAISHighPerformanceCoach;theywill
beexpectedtohaveakeeninterestandcommitmentintheclub’soveralldevelopment
whichwillincludecanvassing&workingwithlocalschoolsandcommunitytoattract
potentialswimmersandtotakeanactivepartwithotherclubbasedinitiativestohelpbuild
themembershipbasethatwillensurefuturesuccess.

TheRockinghamSwimmingClubtrainsattheAquaJettyfacilityinWarnbro(approximately
10minssouthofRockingham).Squadscanutilizeboth25m(indoor)and50m(outdoor)lane
spaceaswellasgroupfitness,gymandspinrooms.
Salary
Tobenegotiateddependingoncandidatequalificationsandexperience.Salarytoinclude
superannuationand4weeksagreedpaidvacation,aswellasprofessionaldevelopment
opportunities.
DesirableQualificationsandExperience
Silverlicenseorsilverlicensecandidatesarestronglyencouragedtoapply.
CoacheswhohaveplacedswimmersintoNationalAgefinalsandhaveproventheycanruna
programfromJuniortoNationalAgelevel.
FitnessindustryqualificationorStrengthandConditioningCoachAccreditation.
Sportsscienceundergraduatedegree(orworkingtowards).
