Introduction to Transitioning to ICD-10-CM-Coding Frequently Asked Questions This six week course is designed as an overview for the ICD 10-CM-Coding of International Classification of Diseases and Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM). This introduction course will enhance the student knowledge on the retrieval and storage of diagnostic information and statistical classification of IDC-10-CM. The course will prepare students on how to use, and apply guidelines to meet the new regulations for alphanumeric classification codes that identify known diseases and other health problems. Upon successful completion this course students will be ready to take the modules online to receive CEU’s from AAPC/AHIMA. 36 hours. $124 (this does not include textbook and additional fees) Introduction to Transitioning to ICD-10-CM-Coding Program Frequently Asked Questions 1. What do I need to register for the Introduction to Transitioning to ICD-10-CM-Coding? Complete the Durham Tech Continuing Education Registration form 2. Are there prerequisites for the Introduction to Transitioning to ICD-10-CM-Coding course? There are no prerequisites for the Introduction to Transitioning to ICD-10-CM-Coding 3. Can I register for the Introduction to Transitioning to ICD-10-CM-Coding course early? No. You may register once the schedule is posted on the DTCC website or you receive the schedule of courses in the mail. 4. No. This is a noncredit course; therefore, federal financial aid does not cover the cost for this course. If you are receiving assistance through an agency, you may be able to receive educational assistance through that particular agency (i.e. WIA, CRC, JOCCA, Vocational Rehabilitation, or US Department of Veterans Affairs) 6. If an agency (Vocational Rehabilitation, JOCCA, or WIA) is paying for the course and/or books, what do I need to register? You must provide a copy of the “authorization to pay” letter from the agency along with your registration form. Registrations are not accepted if we do not have the letter of authorization. If you are receiving assistance for your books, you will also need an “authorization to pay” letter to submit to the Durham Tech Bookstore. 7. Where is the ICD-10-CM-Coding class location? The ICD-10-CM-Coding course is offered at the Northgate Mall satellite center. The Northgate Mall entrance is on the side of the mall that Ruby Tuesday’s is on. The single glass door beside the mall entrance will lead you to the lower level. 11. Are evening courses offered? Yes 12. What certifications are available for graduates of the Introduction to Transitioning to ICD-10-CM-Coding course?
