MNPHA’s Mission
MNPHA will build, support and strengthen our members who are diverse non-profit housing
providers in Manitoba through services, educational opportunities and advocacy.
MNPHA’s Vision
All households in Manitoba have access to safe, affordable housing.
All members of the Association consistently achieve excellence by using best practices.
The public, private and non-profit sectors work respectfully together toward developing and
maintaining safe, secure and affordable housing.
MNPHA’s Principles
Manitoba Non-Profit Housing Association (MNPHA) will be a member controlled and
supported organization. It is accountable directly to its membership through its Board of
Directors, drawn from and selected by the membership. The Board will operate under a
Policy Governance model to set policy and direction for the Association.
The Association will focus on the needs of the diverse requirements of non-profits to ensure
that services and programs are supporting common goals, to formally assess delivery of
services by engaging our membership through annual surveys to ensure we optimize
membership satisfaction.
The Association will develop opportunities/programs that will assist the membership to
improve financial viability and sustainability of the affordable housing sector.
The Association will work in partnership and foster relationships with all stakeholders,
including all levels of government, the Private Sector and affordable housing supporters with
the goal to secure a strategic alliance.

5. Marketing
For this first year, MNPHA will be providing a reduced rate to all members.
MNPHA along with Manitoba Housing will send an email “blast” to all potential
members promoting attendance. Emails will be distributed, along with the mailing
of “Save the Date” postcards, then mailed invitations and followed by a personal
phone call. The MNPHA website is currently promoting the event and will be
updated as more information is confirmed. A joint; MNPHA & MB Housing
Press/Media Release will be put out in late summer and repeated in early fall.
MNPHA wants to connect to all of the key players in the non-profit and affordable
housing sector. Registration is not limited strictly to housing providers but to
supportive services such as mental health, addictions, homelessness workers
and health authorities.
MNPHA wants to engage landlords that provide affordable housing and create an
opportunity for those to learn they are not the only ones out there! The
association also wants to ensure that all properties having support from Manitoba
Housing are aware that they can claim membership fees as a legitimate
operating expense. Manitoba Housing is a great supporter of the association and
is prepared to contribute in-kind supports of speakers, materials and promotions.

important to our sector. A delegate from Manitoba Housing sits on the Planning
Committee and provides input from their office.
MNPHA is also working with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation

to our members and supporters. CMHC has confirmed their participation by
sponsoring a conference activity aligning themselves with the celebration of
