REGISTRATION OPTIONS
Registration Options
• There are 3 different ways student
accounts can be created in the system:
– Open Registration
– Restricted Registration
– No Registration
Open Registration
• Students register on their own from your
student login page
• All registrations go through a Student
Pending Bin for administrator approval
Restricted Registration*
• Student registers on their own from your
student login page, just like Open
Registration
• Student IDs are checked against your
Firewall to determine if the student is allowed
to register
• No approval needed through the Student
Pending Bin
*If using this option, all users (student and alumni) must
use Restricted Registration
No Registration
• Student accounts are created via a
student upload
• Student will be prompted to complete their
profile when they log in the first time using
the username and password created
during the upload process
QUESTIONS
STUDENT UPLOADS
Why use student uploads?
• No Registration: As mentioned previously,
this method will allow you to create new
student accounts in mass
• Benefits:
– Mass email all students, even if student is not
actively using system
– Easily create observation notes
– Accurate reporting data
Types of Student Uploads
• Create New Only
– Record Match = record is skipped
– No Record Match = new record is created
• Update Only
– Record Match = record is updated
– No Record Match = record is skipped
• Create and Update
– Record Match = record is updated
– No Record Match = new record is created
Frequency of Uploads
• If you have support from your campus IT
team, we recommend automating this
process to have your uploads run on a
nightly basis
• If not, manual uploads should be ran at
least once a semester to create new
student accounts and transition recent
graduates from Student to Alumni in the
system.
