Students (and parents) can keep track of your grade by accessing your Infinite Campus account. I
highly recommend checking your grades frequently to keep you up to date on your progress. Also, if
you find a mistake or feel a grade was imputed incorrectly PLEASE come and see me and we can
take care of it together. The 40-40-20 grading system will be used this year. Both quarter grades
equal 80% of your semester grade and your final exam grade is worth 20% of your semester grade
Grades will start over after the 1st and 3rd quarters.
GRADED AREAS
1) Homework/Participation:
* Homework (5-10 points)- will be given Monday thru Thursday. It is very important
when learning a foreign language to keep a constant work ethic. Learning outside of the classroom is
essential for success. Homework is due at the very beginning of class. During bellwork, have your
homework and stamp sheet on your desk so that it can be easily checked. No homework, no
points, no excuses!
2) Assessments
* Dictados (8 points) - These short dictations will be given on every block day. They will test
your knowledge of current vocabulary, listening and writing skills.
* Performances (15-50 points) – These skits will be performed in class with a partner or small
group covering current content. They must be memorized! Rubrics will be given to show what is
expected from you.
* Quizzes (15-40 points) – These quizzes will be given to monitor progress and understanding.
They will always be announced in advance!
* Exams (50-100 points) – These will be given at the end of every chapter. They will
incorporate reading, listening and writing skills.
POLICIES/EXPECTATIONS
1) As a Perry H.S. teacher, I respect and follow the policy and disciplinary procedures as outlined
by the school. Absolutely NO cell phones, i pods, gum or hats in the classroom. Keep your
items in your bag at all times. If I see them, I’ll take them!
2) Come to class prepared! Notebook, pencil/pen and book (when needed) are a must.
3) Cheating is unacceptable! An immediate 0 and a referral will be given.
4) ~Using an online translator will result in an automatic 0 for that assignment~
5) Tardiness will not be tolerated. Perry’s tardy policy and discipline actions will be followed.
6) If absent, it is your responsibility to check the website and/or homework board to get your
missing work. Check with a classmate for notes or other information given. In the event of a
missing test due to an excused absence, the student is to schedule a time to make up the
graded assignment. You have two weeks to make up the assignment. If the event of a long
term absence, come see me.
7) RESPECT! This is the most important expectation. You are required to show 100% respect
while in the classroom. It is my responsibility to maintain a safe and respectful environment
and I will not allow any student to jeopardize the positive experience of any student in my
classroom. Let’s have a great year. Go PUMAS!
SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS
*THE DREADED 3 – When a substitute teacher is teaching my class, he/she deserves the
utmost respect. If you are misbehaving or being disrespectful in any way towards that teacher,
you will receive the THE DREADED 3 which includes:
