FOLLOWING THE NIGHT OF DECREES i.e.
LAYLAT AL QADR.

INSTITUTE DRAWS ATTENTION TO THIS ALL
IMPORTANT FACT!
Laylat al-Qadr — the Night of Decree commemorates the night during which the
first verses of the Holy Recitation/Qur’an
were revealed and placed in the mouth and
heart of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be
upon him and his family) as prophesied in
Deuteronomy 18:15 to 18:22: . It is symbolic
of the spiritual dimension of life, which for
Muslims, gives meaning and purpose to
their existence and holds the promise of a
noble spiritual destiny.
On this particular night of Decree in 610 AD,
the angel Gabriel/Jibril delivered the divine
message from Allah to the Prophet, who had
withdrawn for prayer in the cave of Hira. The
Holy Qur’an describes Laylat al-Qadr in
Surah 97
in the following terms:
“We have indeed revealed this (Message) in
the Night of Power. And what will explain to
thee what the night of power is? The Night
of Power is better than a thousand months.
Wherein come down the angels and the
Spirit by Allah’s permission, on every
errand. Peace! until the rise of morn!
Muslims are instructed by the Quran, Chapter 3: Imran/
Amran: Verses 71-81: to ask the people of the Book (the
Jews and Christians) the following questions:- “O People of
the Scripture! Why do you disbelieve in the revelations of
Almighty God Allah/Allah’a/Elohim, when you, yourselves,
bear witness to their truth… Why do you confound the truth
with falsehood, and knowingly conceal the truth?...behold,
there is a party from among them that distort the Scriptures
with their tongues… And they say this is from Allah
(knowing full-well) that it is not; and they speak a lie
concerning Elohim/Allah knowingly. It is NOT for any
human being unto whom God had given the Scripture and
Wisdom and the Prophethood that he should afterwards
have said to mankind: Become slaves of me instead of
Almighty God/Allah/Elohim.” This is taken from the “Words/
Recitation/ Qur’an” which God promised Moses to place in
the mouth of His unlettered prophet mentioned in
Deuteronomy 18:15 to 18:22:
Deuteronomy 18:15 to 18:22: “The Lord your God will raise up from
you a Prophet likened to me from your midst, from your (Arab)
brethren. Him you shall hear. “According to all you desired of the Lord
in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying ‘Let me not hear again the
voice of the Lord my God, nor let me see the this great fire anymore,
lest I die.’ And the Lord said to me : What they have spoken is good. ‘ I
will raise up for them a Prophet likened to you from among their
brethren, and I will put My WORDS in his mouth, and He shall speak to
them All That I Command Him.
And it Shall be that whosoever will NOT hear My words – Which he
shall speak in My Name (BisMilLah - In The Name Of Allaha/ Allah/
Elohim), I Will Require it of him. But the Prophet who presumes to
speak a word in My Name, which I have Not Commanded him to speak,
or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’
“And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the
Lord has Not spoken?’ – “When a prophet speaks in the Name of the
Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing
which the Lord has Not spoken; the prophet has spoken it
presumptuously; you shall (therefore) not be afraid of him.”

As mentioned, Laylatu Al-Qadr i.e. The Night
of Decree is not set. But it is definitely one of
the last ten nights of Ramadan. There are
signs which if they appear are indications that
the night has arrived. Some signs appear
during the night itself, and others may occur
the following morning. Signs that occur
during that night are described in the
following Hadith. Ahmad reported that the
Prophet said: "The Night of Al Qadr is a clear
and shining night as if there were a bright
moon in it. It is calm and tranquil. It is neither
cold nor hot and no shooting stars are visible
in it…"
