First win for Sweden in Intermediate round
After defeat from Portugal Sweden had to win against Poland if they wanted to stay in top of the
Intermediate round II with a hopes for playing placement matches for 9 to 12 place. Sweden had a
good start of the match and already had 3- goal lead after only seven minutes of play. With each
minute their lead was increasing and by the time for a break they had 14:8 lead.
In the second part nothing has changed. Even tough Poland was trying the best they can, wanting
to keep their hopes alive too but they could not break the opponent. Sweden went on 22:13 lead
after few fat goals and decided the match. At the end Swedish players celebrated 32:22 and
catched the train for the World Championship too.
Best player: Alfred Jonsson (SWE), Jakub Bulski (POL)
Marcus Lindgren, SWE (coach):
We knew that Poland is a good team and we were practicing defense a lot. We were good at that in
the match. We had though period but with this win we did a great job and we can go further with
this win.
Alfred Jonsson, SWE (player):
We played very good in the defense and our offense was good prepared. It was important win for
us and now we are looking forward to the next matches.
Michal Skorski, POL (coach):
Big problem is our head. We are not focused on the match and winning. We wanted to win and

fight but unfortunately we lost not just this match but the placement for the World Championship.
We want to prepare now for the next European Championship.
Jakub Bulski, POL (player):
This was really important match for us but we lost. I don't know what to say. It's not easy but we
now must focus on the next game and try to win those two matches. That's the main thing now.
