SPACE HD DSD200-HD SET TOP BOX INSTALLATION AND SOFTWARE UPDATE
Please follow the steps below to update your new SPACE HS DSD200-HD
Set Top Box (STB) software using the built in Over the Air (OTA)
process
Remove the plastic protection wrap covering the top cover air vents
(very important!)
Insert the two AAA batteries supplied in the gift box into the Remote
Control Unit (RCU)
Connect the STB to a suitable LNB/Dish combination that has been
correctly installed for the Platco OVHD network
Connect the STB to your TV via either HDMI connector, the A/V RCA
connectors or the RF Out connector on the rear panel of the STB
Connect the supplied DC Power Supply (PSU) to the appropriate
connector on the STB rear panel and power it up
If your STB is connected correctly to the TV a welcome screen will
appear on the TV followed shortly by a SPACE HD splash screen
Once the splash screen has gone select the MENU on the RCU, navigate
to the SYSTEM SETTINGS sub-menu and select the AUTO SCAN option, press
OK to perform the automatic channel scan
The box does not need to be authorised but you do need to do an AUTO
SCAN first to pick up the Platco channels
Once the scan is complete and a channel is displayed a banner will
appear to tell you that the box is not authorised
If you select the PLATCO PROMO channel the box will have audio and
video as this is not an encrypted channel
After a short while the OTA banner should appear on the TV screen and
the OK button on it will be blue
You can select OK using the RCU or wait a short while and a download
banner will appear on the TV screen
You will see that there is a number in the top right hand corner 000000-0000-30 of the download banner
The left most 2 digits will start at 00 and slowly count to 09, this
can take about 6 minutes so be patient!
When 09 is reached the software download will start and take between 3
and 4 minutes
After the download is complete the box will re-boot
Select the MENU on the RCU, navigate to the SYSTEM SETTINGS sub-menu
and select the AUTO SCAN option, press OK to perform the channel scan
Once complete the PLATCO PROMO channel will be displayed and you can
use the STB
Remember the STB will still need to be activated (option 1 in the USSD
menu) using the Platco USSD facility by calling *120*OVHD# or
*120*6843# from your South African (+27) registered cell phone
The initial factory Parental Control PIN will be 0 0 0 0 but will
default to 1 2 3 4 thereafter if a Parental Control PIN Reset (option
3 in the USSD menu) is done via the Platco USSD facility
