Adult Certifications
One of our most popular courses this course is suited to those who have never coached before and wish to work
with beginner and intermediate players or those that have completed the level 1 or 2 LTA courses.
By the end of the course you will be able to
 Diagnose technical errors in a players game
 Know how to teach 22 different shots in simplified progressions
 Run effective drills and practices
 Understand how to communicate, demonstrate and organise groups of players
 Understand basic doubles tactics
You will also be given basic knowledge on how to work with juniors and performance players.

Junior Development Certifications
This course is popular for those starting out in coaching and wishing to coach junior players in groups and 1 to 1
lessons. It is also suited for coaches who wish to understand the PTR model of teaching.
By the end of this course you will be able to
 Understand the competencies juniors require when moving from red to orange to green
 Gain a simple system for teaching beginner players of all ages and levels
 Understand percentage tactics and when to teach technique when the player progresses
 Understand how to run a lesson with junior players of all ages and how to differentiate between levels
 Learn how to work with parents and keep them involved in the process
You will also have the ability to gain basic knowledge of working with adults and performance players.

Performance Certifications
This course is more specialised and ideal for those coaches that have some coaching experience or have trained at a
high level as a player. It is also ideal for LTA level 3/4 coaches.

11-17 Certifications
This course is suited for coaches with experience already working with players that are between the ages of 12 and
18 who have a good understanding of the four performance factors.
The course emphasises the maturation and development of player’s coaches are required to learn when working
with these players including the windows of opportunity of what to teach and when. It will also tap into how to grow
teen tennis players at your club and make use of them to participate in growing your own club programme.

I must attend all the scheduled sessions during the course in the correct sequence and at the
agreed venue.
PTR, their employees or agents accept no responsibility whatsoever in respect of personal injury,
loss or damage, however caused, arising whilst attending the course.
PTR reserves the right to reject any applicant whom it considers to be an unsuitable person for
involvement in coaching. This right may also be exercised retrospectively if information is brought
to PTR’s attention, which, if known at the time of the application, would have rendered the
candidate unsuitable. For the avoidance of doubt, the falsification of any information requested in
this application form and/or the existence of any police record or caution relating to matters
considered to be incompatible with certification, constitute circumstances where PTR reserves the
right to withdraw or suspend a candidate’s qualification.
If I withdraw from the course prior to the start I will forfeit the course fee, unless I give written
notice of more than 14 working days. The fee will not be forfeited if PTR is able to fill the vacancy.
If I withdraw from the course once it has started, I will forfeit the course fee
PTR reserves the right to cancel the course if enrolment numbers are not sufficient.
I understand that in undertaking this course it does not provide me with a guarantee of work
from PTR or any provider at the end of the course.
I understand that there will be further costs incurred should I be required to re-take the course.
