work together to
cook, clean, make

and create a
safe space for
everyone to
explore. Each
co-op has regular
council meetings
where members
make decisions
about community
concerns.
LEADERSHIP & NETWORKING
OPPORTUNITIES
Our Board of
Directors,
composed of
students,
determines
BSC-wide
policies,
budgeting,
and strategic
planning.
House-level
managers
handle
household
operations
and budgets. Our professional staff provides support and
training to our student leaders. Our members and student
leaders graduate into an extensive alumni network.
MEMBERSHIP RIGHTS &
RESPONSIBILITES
All students enrolled as full time students and working
towards a degree may become members of the BSC.
- All members are required to do workshifts to keep our
homes clean and operational. At the apartments, the
workshift requirement is 8 hours/semester. At our
houses the workshift requirement is 5 hours/week.
- All members have the right to vote and run for
management positions and the Board of Directors.
- Members have the right to attend house council
meetings and Board of Director meetings.
- All members are required to comply with our conduct
policies.

FOOD SECURITY
FOOD AT THE HOUSES
During the academic year, the cost to live in the 17 houses includes meals from well-stocked 24-hour kitchens.
Houses generally have at least one prepared meal per day.
Members can make special food and dietary requests to
their Kitchen Manager.
BOARDING-ONLY CONTRACT
Students who do not live in our houses can still have secure
and consistent access
to food and meals.
Members with meal
contracts get the
same access to food,
facilities, and social
events as house
residents. They
contribute 1-3 hours
of workshift per week.
