Annexure – I
Significant Contribution/Innovations through teaching, research, design or any
other innovative/creative activity during past 5 years
1. I use visual aids in teaching
2. I have developed innovative soil nailing techniques out of Ph.D guidance work
and have applied it successfully at 2 sites namely: Hero Cycles Industries,
Ludhiana and a Ashram in Rishikesh
3. I have constructed a prototype retaining wall using Reinforced earth
technology on Dehradun highway. This technology is being used by PWD
Uttaranchal and UP.
4. My authored book, “Soil testing for engineers” is available outside India in
countries like – Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Nepal, Bhutan etc.
5. I have delivered invited lectures in Nirma University Ahmedabad, CSMRS
New Delhi, ALT academy Ghaziabad etc.
6. The M.Tech thesis guided by me has got ISTE national award with a cash
prize of Rs. 10,000/- + citation. The other thesis on Micro piles is being
actively considered for Indian National Academy of Engineers award as
informed by Executive Secretary, INAE to me
7. I have designed foundations for 455 m long suspension bridge in Dobra
village, Tehri. This is going to be Asia’s first high altitude medium vehicle
suspension bridge as reported by print and electronic media. The ground
Improvement techniques developed by me are also being applied at this site
8. I am designing foundation for another suspension bridge called Ghonti bridge
in distt. New Tehri, this will be 240 m long
