Mall of America and Simon Says Give are partnering for this record-breaking event.

WHY:
Mall of America turns 25 on August 11, 2017 and Simon Says
Give turns 5 on April 13, 2017. The two organizations are
joining forces to celebrate their milestones by celebrating
2,500 children with Birthday Celebrations.
IMPACT:
2,500 birthdays in a box.
IMPACT VALUE:
• $375,000 impact to youth receiving the birthday. (Value of a
birthday in a box = $150.)
• Each birthday child will be able to celebrate his/her day with
10 friends. Therefore, when 2,500 children are celebrated –
25,000 children are truly able to celebrate!
• 1,000’s of volunteer impact hours! Kids 2 to 92 will be able to
participate in this World Record event!
WHAT’S IN A BIRTHDAY IN A BOX:
Everything a parent would need to do a pop-up birthday party
for his/her child. Birthday cake, frosting, candles, party favors,
goodie bags for 10 kids, a Gift in Need and a Gift for Fun.
for the largest birthday celebration impact in one location in
one day. There will be a volunteer sign-up listed on the Simon
Says Give website and promoted by Mall of America to engage
the community to get involved.
DISTRIBUTION OF BIRTHDAYS IN A BOX:
2,000 of the birthday boxes will stay in Minnesota and be
distributed through Simon Says Give and non-profit partners
(including many homeless shelters). 500 of the boxes will be
distributed through a national shipping sponsor to youth
partners to be distributed in other communities.
HOW TO SPONSOR:
There is a value of $150 per birthday box. We are looking for
sponsors that are interested in supporting a certain number of
kids to be celebrated or providing individual items that would
go in the boxes. We specifically are looking for party supplies,
gifts in need and gifts for fun for our boxes! We are also in
conversations with a sponsor of cake mix and frosting!

On August 8th, Simon Says Give and Mall of America will have
volunteers, sponsors and team members that will be working
hard to pack 2,500 birthdays in a box to hit the World’s Record
Mall of America has earned a national reputation for entertaining
guests. From musical acts to celebrity book signings to fashion

Simon Says Give is a Minnesota based nonprofit founded by
Mandi Simon, when she was 8-years old. April 13, 2017, the
organization will turn 5 and the overall impact to youth in
Minnesota and beyond has reached 64,110 since Mandi and
her team went to work.
