• Birth- February 12, 1809
• Lincoln gave out $2,000,000 for war material
from the treasury.
• Played Commander of Chief and President of the
United States.
• Goal was to abolish slavery.
• Wanted the country to come together as whole.
• Death- April 14, 1865
William Carney
• Birth- February 29, 1840
• Hero of the 54th Massachusetts Regiment.
• Stood up to say that blacks may perform to
fight at the age of 23.
• He served in the Civil War.
