PRIDE Prep Goal
Our goal is to spark the interests and prepare the next generation of leaders: students who
imagine new opportunities, take initiative, and work with others to solve problems.

PRIDE Prep invites innovative, highly relational professionals to apply for the 2017-18 school
year. Ideal candidates are individuals with an unyielding belief that all students can learn at high
levels if given the right support and encouragement.

Responsibilities of PRIDE teachers include but are not limited to:
Teachers support efforts to promote and enhance the overall mission by providing services and
support that: alleviate barriers to learning and participation, motivate all students to reach
challenging academic and personal goals, and provide opportunities for students to make
decisions and build leadership capacity. Teachers write integrated lesson plans that incorporate
key standards from all content area. Teachers are responsible for building personalized learning
plans and learning activities, project-based learning experiences, and interest-based exploratory
experiences.


Utilize data from interim assessments and shift instruction and provide
intervention
Design and facilitate small group discussion and instruction
Support Student Success Coaches with small group and individual tutoring
Design individualized learning experiences for every student
Design and implement personalized learning and project-based lessons with
colleagues
Hold all students and colleagues accountable for agreed upon expectations

o Collaborate with other teachers and team members to improve instructional,
culture-building and leadership skills
o Attend and engage in all formal and informal professional development, team
planning and data analysis meetings

Skills and Characteristics
 Strong instructional and classroom management skills
 High level of personal organization and planning
 Strong belief in PRIDE Prep’s mission and educational model
 Enthusiasm and passion for subject matter
 Desire to learn with students and colleagues
Educational Background and Work Experience
 One year teaching experience highly preferred
 Bachelor’s degree and ability to obtain WA State Teaching Certification
 Meet requirements of Highly Qualified in content area
 Additional endorsements preferred
 Ability to pass required background checks
