Summer Twilight Competition CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1. Team composition U11, U13, Mixed Twilight Grades are allowed to have 3 boys/ men on court at one time during the game with one covering each third of the court. 2. Umpires Two umpires to each game. All Grades are required to provide an umpire to umpire their own team. Please ensure that you have one team umpire that umpires the entire game. Whistles can be purchased for $5 at the office. Team umpires are to control game time.. Umpires are not required to score the game as well – please make sure you have an additional person on the side line to take score. Please note if your team does not supply an umpire, a player will have to take on this responsibility – even if this means playing with 6 players. (For Junior this will be the coach or parents responsibility) 3. Games Traditional Twilight Games will be 40 minutes in duration (4 x 10 min quarters) and will be played under the International Netball Rules. Round time will be 6pm & 7pm. Umpires are to take their own time – as no bell will be supplied. There will be 1min quarter time breaks and 2min half time. 4. Uniform/Balls/ First Aid No uniform will be required but teams should provide playing bibs for their games. Bibs may be hired at the courts for a fee of $5 per game or if your team would like to hire a set for the whole competition please contact Megan to discuss this option further. You must also provide your own ball for the game. Each team is responsible for their player’s first aid, so please provide your own first aid kit. If ice is required the centre has an ice machine that is available. 5. Fairplay Teams are expected to adopt fairplay practices in their games. This competition is organised to provide an opportunity for people to enjoy netball outside the winter competition. The key focus is enjoyment in participation. Teams who are considered to be not applying fairplay principles in their participation may be excluded from the competition. Netball Christchurch applies the following fairplay principles to its competitions: Fairplay in netball means: always playing fair and within the rules; always respecting your opponents and officials; always giving it heaps, but keeping your cool; always respecting and supporting your team-mates, coaches/managers. 6. Defaults Defaults are to be avoided at all costs. Please ensure that you have sufficient players available to field a team every week. No refunds will be given for games that are defaulted. If teams do not notify Christchurch Netball of their default at least 24 hours prior to competition teams will be charged a fee of $50.00 per team. 7. Cancellations Games will not be held in inclement weather. A decision will be made by 2.30pm on the day of competition and may be checked by phoning the Netball centre office (379 4486 ext. 4) or checking facebook or the website www.netballchristchurch.org.nz. 8. Draw The draw will be posted on our website www.netballchristchurch.org.nz/draws.html once confirmed. An administration fee of 50% of entry fee will be charged for any team who withdraws once the draw has been completed. 9. Parking The netball centre has parking available if there are no additional functions on. Please make sure that you give yourself enough time to find a park if needed, so games are still played on time. 10. Payment Entries can be paid for as follows: Cheque: made out to Christchurch Netball Centre and sent in with entry form to P O Box 9318, Christchurch Internet: payment deposited into account 06 0665 0152391 00 with team name as reference. Entry fee needs to be made at time of entry.
