KS 1/2 Learn to Compete, Compete to Learn Training Day 2nd July 2012 At: Bournemouth University Room-K103 Talbot Campus BH12 5BB In partnership with This exciting and innovative training day has been arranged from feedback from those that attended the Active PE Partnership Training day in April. We have managed to secure it for £95 per person rather than the usual £145. This includes a set of resources. It will be on a first come first serve basis as we cannot guarantee this price again. Learning Outcomes By the end of the course: All delegates will be able use the resource to prepare children and young people for competition. All delegates will be able use healthy competition as a learning tool to draw out key life skills. All delegates will be able to use the resource to deliver personalised Fundamental Movement Skills competitions Many delegates will be able to include and challenge children through healthy competition by delivering a range of formats and activities. Some delegates will be able to transfer and develop further applications of the principles of Compete to Learn and the Competition Spectrum for young people to redefine personal best and skill acquisition. Course Overview This practical course equips teachers to explore the building blocks of competition and support the development of key emotional and life skills through a personalised approach. It provides fun and practical activities and strategies to prepare children positively for life-long participation and competition.
