Review of minutes – Approval of February and March minutes

Lease – expires July 13, 2015; Donna working on renewal; Karsten questioned whether water was part
of new lease
Outreach:
New signs for open houses in shed - Ranga to determine timing and frequency of open houses;
applications for membership and pens to be placed in shed
Green Day (4/25) - Karsten, Jane, and Donna
WWFM (new location; 5/2) – Jane and Donna
Lucy Daniels (teaching garden; 5/2) – Karsten
Garden:
Rain barrel – concrete blocks? We will have 2 rain barrels; cinder blocks needed – Karsten has 2 to
donate
Children’s Garden – activities for specific age groups; Wayne to pull membership list to see how many
children may participate
Tools, newspapers, upkeep – Tools need to be stored properly in the shed; newspapers (for weed
control) to be stored in designated boxes in open shed
Gate status – check with Vince and Chance
Remaining items on Winter Chore list – fence repair, soaker hoses – fix hoses with couplers
Town participation –
Lease states town not responsible for any repairs/maintenance of garden, so town has been very helpful
to MCG
Donna would like to invite Town Council to an open house
Ranga has contacted Cary News to see about write-up on MCG
Master Gardener summary – heirloom tomatoes well known to carry disease, so no heirloom tomatoes
to be grown in MCG
Tiller – tentatively planned for 5/2
Bed/area oversight – meeting on Monday, April 27, 2015, to finalize (finalized layout on next page)
Composting – signs up at compost piles; pallet needs to be picked up
Treasurer Report
 Savings: $1200; Checking: $800
 $820 still to be deposited in account (includes $500 from second part of grant)
