Back by popular demand, the SX 6-red has held again on Saturday

Back by popular demand, the SX 6-Red was held again on Saturday 25/3/17 in the Southern
Cross Club snooker room.
12 players registered in advance and 2 additional players showed – hoping to join in and take
part at the last minute. However the entire 12 pre-registered players showed up, giving them
no chance to play.
The atmosphere was great with some spectators and supporters present for the full duration
of just under 4 hours.
The quick format and single frame knockout meant a quick burst on the table before coming
off again. We had one match where a player broke off and snookered his opponent who then
missed. The foul meant ball in hand and the player went on to make a 39 break, with his
opponent conceding, resulting in the opponent having only 1 shot in the game.
The games were exciting, with excellent snooker being played.
The winner, Raj Das, won 7 consecutive games and walked away with the prize for winning
the most frames and also the prize for the high break. Second place went to Murray Jeffries,
with Charlie Bastecky coming third.
The Southern Cross Club provided a platter of nibbles for the players and was well received.
Word on the street is that the players are looking forward to the next one – to be announced
soon.
The format followed is:
