This work is a lenticular acrylic
panel comprised of four colour
inkjets printed directly onto 20
lpi lenticular animating lenses,
back mounted with 3mm Dibond.
It depicts a woman running and
is number three of ten from an
edition of 50. The dimensions
are 89.2 x 52.8 cm and it is in
a beautiful brushed aluminium
frame.
The artist
Julian Opie was born in London in
1958, and is one of the UK’s best
known contemporary artists. He
digitally manipulates photographs
and constructs his images by
a process of elimination and

distillation to create simplified

images and “moving” portraits. His style is minimalist, using

black line drawing and simplified areas of colour. He uses a
variety of media and technologies, from inkjet on canvas and
painted aluminium to vinyl on walls and sculptures of everyday
features. Photos are emptied of unmemorable detail to become
the essence of themselves with subtle, repetitive movements.
