Julian Opie Bibi Running This work is a lenticular acrylic panel comprised of four colour inkjets printed directly onto 20 lpi lenticular animating lenses, back mounted with 3mm Dibond. It depicts a woman running and is number three of ten from an edition of 50. The dimensions are 89.2 x 52.8 cm and it is in a beautiful brushed aluminium frame. The artist Julian Opie was born in London in 1958, and is one of the UK’s best known contemporary artists. He digitally manipulates photographs and constructs his images by a process of elimination and Starting distillation to create simplified price: images and “moving” portraits. His style is minimalist, using £7,000 black line drawing and simplified areas of colour. He uses a variety of media and technologies, from inkjet on canvas and painted aluminium to vinyl on walls and sculptures of everyday features. Photos are emptied of unmemorable detail to become the essence of themselves with subtle, repetitive movements.
