PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Guidelines
PRACTICE SLOT OWNERSHIP – Practice reservations are on a first-come first-serve basis. Only registered teams will be able to have
Reserved Practice times. If a team has reserved a time slot, that practice time and field belongs to that team for the duration of the season.
A team may only reserve one practice slot. If a team wishes to change their practice slot, they must vacate the slot they currently have
reserved when a new slot is approved at our location (Dornwood Sports Park).
GAMES VS PRACTICE – Games always take priority over practice. If a game has been scheduled during a team's reserved practice slot,
the game will take priority and the practice team must vacate the field in question.
RESERVING A PRACTICE SLOT – Email the league scheduler ([email protected]) with one or several practice
slot requests, ranking the requests from most preferred to least preferred. No reservations are made until the scheduler confirms a team's
request in writing or the posted schedule reflects the request.
VACANT PRACTICE SLOTS – If a slot has not been reserved, any team can use that practice slot. Vacant slots are to be used on a firstcome first-serve basis. If a slot has been reserved and the team does not arrive at the designated time, any other team can use that
practice slot. If the team who reserved the field arrives at any time during their reserved practice slot, the team with the reservation has
priority to the slot. The team without the reservation must vacate the field and yield access to the team with the reservation.
END PRACTICE ON TIME – Teams must vacate the field when the next practice slot begins. A team, who goes over their allotted
practice slot time, will receive one warning. League scheduler must be notified of abuses to issue the warning. A second incident of abuse
will result in the team losing the practice slot for one week. Additional incidents of abuse can result in a team losing reserved practice slot.
NON-TBSA TEAMS – Non-TBSA Teams can reserve practice slots. But, TBSA teams have priority use of TBSA fields – so a non-TBSAA
team's reservation will be removed if a TBSA team requests that practice slot. If a non - TBSA team has a field reserved, a TBSA team
cannot "bump" the non - TBSA team without going through the appropriate reservation request process.
BE COURTEOUS – Remember that only through cooperation can all of our teams receive the adequate field access that we all need to
improve. Coaches, managers and parents should ALWAYS do what they can to work together if there is any question regarding practice
slot ownership. There is always a solution that will benefit both teams – we must work together to find it. It is not about who is right or who
is wrong – our goal is to make our children better ball players and better people.
