The history of the NBA
` The National Basketball Association was founded on 6th July
1946 in New York.
NBA’s first name was Basketball Assocation of America.
The league adopted the name „National Basketball
Assocation” after 3 years.
Nowadays the league’s owner is David Stern who became its
comissioner in 1984. Through his efforts the NBA became the
most famous basketball league in the world. He built 28 new
arenas and allowed to create 7 new teams.
NBA Finals Trophy renamed to Larry O’Brien trophy.
