WALL — The Crimson Knights lost their second game of the season on
Saturday, falling to Freehold Township 10-5.
Wall had lost its first game of the season to Lacey before winning seven
in a row.
The Patriots jumped to a 3-1 lead in the first quarter, and the Crimson
Knights trailed 4-2 at halftime.
The game broke open during the fourth quarter with the Patriots scoring
five goals and Wall scoring three goals.
Wall had a tough time trying to contain Billy Sasso of Freehold Township.
Sasso had three goals and four assists in the victory for the Patriots.
Kyle McDonough led Wall with three goals and an assist, while Dylan
Bosco had a goal and an assist and P.J. Brown had a goal.
Bruno Setteducati had two assists for the Crimson Knights.
Wall coach Chris Knight felt the Patriots did a better job on winning
faceoffs and ground balls than the Crimson Knights in the loss.

“They won every faceoff,” said Knight. “Their kid is very good. They
out-possessed us and controlled the clock.”
Knight feels his team has to be ready for opponents anxious to face the
Crimson Knights now that Wall established
itself as a top 10 team in the Shore Conference.

“They [Freehold Township] were ready to play,” said Knight. “I told the boys we are ranked now,
people are going to come out firing against us, people want us. We have to be ready.”
Wall played Christian Brothers Academy on Wednesday in a game too late to be covered in this
edition of The Coast Star.
The Crimson Knights will host Marlboro on Saturday.

Manasquan fell to Red Bank Catholic 8-1 on Saturday. The Caseys took an early 3-0 lead at the
end of the first quarter and never looked back against the Warriors.
Jarrett Birch scored the lone goal for Manasquan in the fourth quarter.
The Warriors defeated Ranney 15-7 on Tuesday.
Blaine Birch had six goals in the victory.
The Warriors will host Old Bridge in a non-division game on Saturday.
PURPLE ROSES LOSE TO BARNEGAT
St. Rose lost to Barnegat 10-5 on Monday.
The teams played a scoreless first quarter before the Bengals claimed a 4-2 lead at halftime.
Barnegat took control during the third quarter, outscoring the Purple Roses 4-1.
Matt Frost scored two goals, while Scott Dimmitt, Sean Sullivan and James Barry each had a single goal for St. Rose.
“It was tough,” said St. Rose coach Kevin Preston. “We had three kids missing [due to vacations]. We went into it
confident and took a 2-0 lead.”
The lack of depth was clear during the third quarter when the Bengals pulled away.
“We had the momentum going, but the momentum and energy fell off quicker than usual because we had no depth with
people away.”
The Purple Roses played Holmdel on Wednesday in a game too late to be covered in this edition of The Coast Star.
St. Rose will travel to Monsignor Donovan on Saturday.
