Badminton Team & Individual Championships

Dear Badminton Friends
Glasgow and North Strathclyde Group and Glasgow Sport would like to invite you to our International Youth
Team and Individual Championships for players of U13 and U15 age groups. This will be the third edition of
the competition. Last year we welcomed 157 players from Denmark, England, Finland, Ireland, India, Qatar,
Sweden, USA, Wales and Scotland. Come and join us!

Dates:
22nd May – Team Competition 0900 – 1800
23rd May – Individual Competition 0900 – 2100
24th May – Individual Competition 0900 – 1700 (Semi finals and finals)
Semi finals and finals will be led by umpires and linesmaen.

Age groups:
Under 13 (Born 2002 or later) and Under 15 (Born 2000 or later)
Shuttles:
Yonex AS30 (included in the entry fee)
Teams:
Minimum 4 and maximum 8 players (2 – 4 boys/2 – 4 girls). 1 coach/leader.
Individual:
Boys and Girls Singles, Boys and Girls Doubles, Mixed Doubles.
Players can participate in 3 categories. Singles events will be in pools and doubles and mixed
events using the cup system.
Entrants:
All players affiliated through their National Associations to the BWF.

Individual deadline Entries must be received no later than Thursday 30th April 2015
Entry fee:
Individual competition – Singles £12 per player, Doubles and Mixed Doubles £9 per player/per
event.
Team competition - £150 (minimum 4 players)
Fee includes entry to competition, packed lunch on Friday and Youth t-shirt
Accommodation packages available:
Team Package 2 – Hostel £90 per player
3 Nights accommodation at hostel (Bed and
Breakfast)
Arrival on Thursday 21st May and departing Sunday 24th May 2015
Pick up/Drop off at Airport or Train Station
Transport between official hotel/hostel and competition hall
Team and Individual entry (Max 3 events in Individual)
Packed Lunch during team event only
Each team will receive a free package for their coach/leader.
Team Package 1 - Hotel £140 Per player
3 Nights accommodation at hotel (Bed and Breakfast)
Briefing:
Managers/leaders meeting will take place prior to the team competition on Friday 22nd May.
Draws:
Draws will be available to view on www.tournamentsoftware.com 7 days prior to the start of the
competition.
Practice:
Courts may be available for teams arriving Thursday. Where possible, practice courts will be
made available at requested times, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Transport:
Preferred Airport is Glasgow International
Transport will be provided to teams and players using the Team Package.
Departures – Team departing from Glasgow are kindly requested to schedule flights after 5 pm
on Sunday 22nd May.
