all sessions.

2014 Viking Soccer Camp for Girls
CAMP HIGHLIGHTS:
ABOUT OUR CAMP:

The SSU Girls-Only Soccer Camps will focus on
providing quality instruction in a fun-filled and
challenging atmosphere. Through age-appropriate
drills and training, our staff strives to help young
players increase their soccer performance and basic
skills while helping to develop a better
understanding of team tactics, field presence, and
offensive and defensive responsibilities.
DAY CAMP:
August 4-8: 9 am-4 pm
Open to ages 8-13, this camp will include daily
instruction on basic skills and small sided
competitions to help players apply what they learn
in drills to game situations. This is a great
opportunity for players new to the game and
advanced players who hope to improve their
performance in the upcoming season! Full day
camp includes use of swimming pool and indoor
facilities.
1/2 day option (9 am-noon) available: $125
TEAM & ADVANCED TRAINING CAMP*:
 State of the art facility featuring field turf,
 Staff to camper ratio of 1:10
 Goalkeeper training
 Proper warm-up, flexibility, and cool-down
* Individuals may attend team training camp
with permission from camp director

CAMP DIRECTOR, NICOLLE WOOD
Nicolle Wood recently completed her 8th season
as Head Coach at SSU, leading the team to the
MASCAC semi-finals. Wood worked as Director
of Programs at High Performance Sports, INC
in Peabody prior to coming to SSU and has
been a featured presenter at Massachusetts
Youth Soccer conferences and special events
during that time, including state-wide meetings,
coaching education courses, and Olympic
Development Program events. She holds her
NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma and has
been a staff coach for the Lake Placid Soccer
Center in NY. Wood is also the Head Coach for
the FC Greater Boston Bolts U17 Girls Soccer
Team, and graduated from SSU with a BS in
Sports Movement Science in 1995.

A great option for high school and club teams, this
competitive camp will focus on the specific needs of
each team. Coaches will complete evaluation forms
upon registration to help prepare curriculum for
week and to set goals for improvement in team
performance. This innovative approach will help
us prepare your girls for a successful fall season.
Soccer-specific fitness, speed, agility, etc will be
included in each session. Optional 5-6 pm
educational workshops offered to all camp
participants Tues/Weds/Thurs on topics including:
The College Selection Process, ACL Injury
Prevention, and Nutrition/Training Strategies for
Female Athletes
