Dear World Martial Arts Games Participant,
On behalf of the Hosting Committee of the 2017 World Martial Arts Games, I would like to welcome you to the
wonderful City Arbon in Switzerland .During the weekend of the 29th to 1th of October 2017, competitors from all over
the world will compete for the honour of becoming a World Martial Arts Games Champion. The event will be held
under the Patronage of WMAC - Member of TAFISA.
Arbon is situated on a peninsula on the southwest shore of Lake Constance between Romanshorn and Rorschach.
On the south, the municipality borders the canton of St. Gallen. St. Gallen is the nearest larger city. The surrounding
hills are remaining moraines of the Rhine glacier that existed in prehistoric times. The surrounding municipalities are
(counter-clockwise from the north): Egnach, Roggwil, Berg, Steinach, and Horn. Lake Constance forms the
municipality boundary on the northeast and east. It is a junction of the arterial roads from the Rhine valley to the Swiss
Historic places like Rhein-Waterfalls or Wood-Buildings in Unlingen (Germany) and a lot of castles in the near. Also a
lot of Culture and Sporting activities are in the near.
As a participant in the 11th Annual, World Martial Arts Games, you will be present amongst the top martial arts
athletes from around the world, representing a multitude of disciplines with all following universal moral principles,
helping to display and promote the true spirit of the Martial Arts. With over 300 Divisions encompassing the
disciplines of Extreme Martial Arts, Grappling, Karate, Kickboxing, Taekwondo, Kung Fu, Sport Jujutsu, MMA Light
and others. There is something for everyone and many participants will compete in more than one event.
On September 29th, 2017 an estimated 500-1000 martial arts athletes of various age and skill levels, representing
20-40 nations will gather at Seeparkhalle Arbon, Switzerland to compete for chance to become a World Martial Arts
Games Champion. Be part of history and join us for the time of your life!

Athlete weight in and equipment check – Athletes must bring proof of identification
and age (passport, drivers licence, birth certificate) in order to weight in or risk
disqualification. Also a medical check for all fighting categories (the medical can be also
checked at the tournament – cost is €15,--).

This is an open Category for all weight Divisions and Belt Grading.
Male / Female are split.
Forms
This is an open Category for all Styles with or without weapons &
music. Male / Female are together.

Belt Grading in the Divisions:
In all Divisions, except the K1, Fullcontact, Thaiboxing and all Combat-classes of Kids and
Juniors, we have different Divisions in each Category.
We split them in Under Belts and Black Belts:
Under belt =
Black belt =
all belts from white to brown
all belts upper then brown.
Attention:
It is allowed to start from under belt to black belt but it is not allowed to start from Black Belt in
a under belt category. It is also allowed to start in my weight Division and the next higher
Division in the same category. But it is NOT allowed to start in the 2nd higher weight division.
Examples:
John AB: Weight 52 KG, Age: 13, Category PF
He can start: PF U14 -55 kg and in PF U18 -60 kg
He can start: PF U18 -55 kg and in PF U18 -60 kg
He can't start in PF U10 and in PF +18

Please read carefully the General Rules of WMAC and also the Rules book in your division. So
you are informed about all Category Rules and also the Basic Information about our

Ranks will be determined as follow:
NO Professional Fighters (in each division = only Amateurs)!
When registering please write down your Category, Weight Class, Age and Rank.
All uniforms and equipment must be acceptable under WMAC rules and guidelines.
All competitors must maintain themselves as appropriate Sports Ambassadors, and as such will
be held to the highest level of personal integrity, honour and responsibility. Poor sportsmanship
is a reason for exclusion from the event with no refund of fees.
In all categories should be 3 competitors. If it’s not – the Supervisor can take this category
together with a higher weight class.
All rules will be in accordance with the WMAC rules and guidelines as published by the WMAC.
