October 3, 2016 Double-Take Move for Windows 8.0 General Availability Notice Abstract Double-Take Software, Inc. announces the availability of Double-Take® Move™ for Windows 8.0. Double-Take Move 8.0 provides migration for Windows server workloads, facilitating easy, risk-free migrations with near-zero downtime. Double-Take Software strongly encourages customers to stay current on product releases and service packs. Details on this release can be found in the version 8.0 section of the Double-Take Documentation Library and on Support Central. Details Double-Take Move for Windows 8.0 includes the following new capabilities: Simplified Migration Job Creation The Double-Take Console has been improved to simplify the process and reduce the steps necessary to get started migrating server workloads. TLS 1.2 Support Double-Take Move for Windows now offers TLS 1.2 support for increased security across all networks. Simple licensing Double-Take Move for Windows and Double-Take Move for Linux now use the same activation keys to help simplify licensing when migrating both types of server workloads in the same environment. Improvements to Hypervisor Provisioning Double-Take Move 8.0 for Windows provides the ability to select multiple cores and odd number of CPUs for the target replica VM when using the Full Server to Hyper-V and Full Server to ESX migration jobs. Support for vSphere 6.0 Double-Take Move 8.0 for Windows offers full Support for vSphere 6.0 Essentials, Essentials Plus, Standard, Enterprise Plus, or vSphere with Operations Management Enterprise Plus. Enhanced NAT Support - Including Port Forwarding Enhancements have been added to accommodate more robust firewall configurations and remove the previous 1:1 address mapping limitation. Network Usage Optimization Optimizations to network polling allow the Double-Take Console to decrease network utilization by up to 75%. Recovery point metric A Recovery Point Latency metric is available in the Double-Take Console and also via the SDK to report on any lag in replicating data from the source to the target. Token based authentication Enhancements made to the authentication scheme provide improved resiliency for connections in case job-related credentials change or expire. Upgraded to .NET 4.5.1 Double-Take for Windows now uses .NET 4.5.1 to take advantage of the latest Windows security updates. SDK for automation and integration The Double-Take SDK has been enhanced with RESTful interfaces for all Windows migration jobs.
