December – Waverly Golf Club – Round 3 of the VSGC Championship
Waverly Golf Club was the lucky venue that saw the final round of the VSGC
Championship. The day was ready for a surprise outcome, & it did not
disappoint. There was the usual fun times that every round produces, & also
some sadness.
Rade Krstic was in an unfortunate car accident on his way to the Golf Day,
which landed him in hospital. All of the members from the VSGC would like to
wish Rade a speedy recovery, & also pass on a message to his family, to
keep strong & support Rade to a quick & full recovery, as well as being strong
for one another.
The rain came down on the final Sunday for the VSGC championship,
however the members were ready for some hot golf, with 5 members in
contention for the top spot, & everyone brought their “A” Game.
All the VSGC members were also in for a special treat, as the club BBQ was
also to follow, so we all knew there were going to be no losers & a good time
to be had.
By day’s end the scores were starting to gather, Milan Vekovich being the
front runner, with Sladjan Krsic, Stefan Rupa, Mirko Pajic & President Pavle
Jonovic all hot on his heals,… the tension was started to mount.
However, like every VSGC golf day, this one did not disappoint, with a few
surprises. Timce Spasovski rose to the top with a superb net 66, followed by
Petar “Skins” Stojanovic with a net 67, followed by a very consistent Damir
Trkulja with a net 68 & new comer Vladan Andjelkovic.
Timce was also announced “The Champion” for his effort as BBQ chef, with
Pavle Jonovic, these 2 gentlemen go out of their way to cook up a feast every
time, & this time they did not disappoint.
Congratulations to Timce, Petar, & Damir on their win at Glen Waverly, but we
cannot go past talking about the VSGC Club Championship, to which Milan
Vekovich finished the year as the Champ, with Sladjan Krsic, Rade Krstic,
Stefan Rupa & Ray Desancic all deserving a notable mention.
Other notables were, new comer Vladan Andjelkovic, Dragan Ivkovic who’s a
blast from the past, Milan Denic, Bora Vasic & Milan Tomic.
The VSGC would like to congratulate Milan Vekovich for the treble this year,
as he collected the first place in the Aggregate, the VSGC Championship &
tied Pavle Jonovic for the least amount of putts in the competition.
The club would also like to congratulate Timce Spasvski as a first time winner,
& Petar Stojanovic for his second place.
Keep the good times coming & we all hope to see you at the Serbian
Interstate Challenge.
Once again the final word must go out to Rade Krstic who’s in recovery mode,
we all hope you get through it & we hope to see you on the course again.
