Tools at Your Disposal
Three outcome-based planning tools to process these
question are:
• Outcome Map – Refine and add outcomes and/or
strategies
• Context & Assumptions – Articulate what you believe
is happening
• Process – Consider the audiences and stakeholders
that are involved in your processes

Homework
During the winter break, please work with your team to accomplish
the following by Wednesday January 12th, 2011 so that our team can
work with you to create a simple presentation:
1. Draft a list of critical questions for your state’s QRIS (like those we
discussed in session 2 and those teased from your last homework
assignment)
2. Draft a list of outcomes you hope that your QRIS will generate and
for which you think the QRIS should be held accountable
3. Draft a simple 30,000 Outcome Map for your state QRIS, using the
tool provided or something more useful to you.
4. Be prepared to present your draft outcome map to your peers at
the January 26th of February 13th meeting (25-30 minutes
presentation and peer consultation for each state team)
