HKFSD Mobile Application － Campus AR Interactive Centre

To enhance the public’s knowledge of fire safety and ambulance aid, the
Hong Kong Fire Services Department (FSD) has launched the "Hong
Kong Fire Services Department Mobile Application” (FSD App).
Members of the public can download the FSD App on a smartphone or
tablet (iOS and Android systems) and access the latest information on
the FSD. They can also learn more about fire prevention and
ambulance aid through the built-in games.
One part of the App is named “AR Interactive Centre”. With the
technology of Augmented Reality (AR), teachers and students can make
use of the cameras of their smartphones or tablets to scan specially
designed images. Afterwards, such images will appear in the
smartphones or tablets and simple, interesting and interactive games
will begin, providing a joyful and relaxing learning experience to acquire
knowledge related to fire safety and ambulance aid. Since the AR
Interactive Centre makes use of interactive games and poses no
limitations on literacy, it is suitable for teachers and students of all ages.
Upon the successful application of the event, the staff of this
Department will contact the responsible person of the applying school
to discuss the activity format preferred by the school, such as FSD staff
introducing knowledge on fire safety and ambulance aid to teachers or
students in class by making use of the FSD Mobile App, etc. so that the
format of the activity can best match the need of the school.
