General Compensation cables of the thermocouples is used for extension, respectively enlarging free extremities of the thermoelectrodes from the variable temperature zones. Compensation cables also connects the thermoelectric voltage measuring devices. II. Function, description Principle of function of the the extension cables is based on the thermoelectric effect, which says that the thermoelectric tension of a thermocouple suffer no changes when in its circuit are introduced two capacitors made from different materials, if they have identical thermoelectric characteristics with those of the thermoelectrodes and the connection points are at the same temperature. Extension cables of thermocouples consists of two conductors made of wire which can be simple or stranded, electrically insulated.
