SCORER’S PRE-GAME CHECK:

Each team has supplied an official for the score bench.

All player names and numbers are correctly recorded on the scoresheet.

Coach and assistant coach names are correctly recorded on the scoresheet.

Team captains are clearly indicated on the scoresheet with a ©
SCORING:
The scorer shall:



First, draw a diagonal line (/) for any valid field goal scored and a filled circle () for any valid
free throw scored, over the new total number of points as accumulated by the team that has just
scored.
Then, in the blank space on the same side of the new total number of points (beside the new /
or ), enter the number of the player who scored the field goal or the free throw.
A 3 point field goal scored by a player shall be recorded by drawing a circle around the players
number.
FOULS:
Player Fouls: May be personal, technical, unsportsmanlike or disqualifying and shall be recorded
against the player. They will be indicated in the designated spaces alongside their names as follows:
Personal Foul – “P”, Technical Foul – “T”, Unsportsmanlike Foul – “U”, Disqualifying Foul – “D”
A second unsportsmanlike foul shall also be indicated by entering a ‘U’, followed by a ‘D’ in the
remaining spaces.
A Technical Foul against a coach for unsportsmanlike behaviour will be indicated with a “C”
A Technical Foul against a coach for any other reason will be indicated with a “B”
Coach and assistant coach fouls are recorded in the spaces designated alongside their names.
Any foul involving a free throw(s) shall be indicated by adding the corresponding number of free
throws (1, 2 or 3) beside the 'P', 'T', 'C', 'B', 'U' or 'D'.
TEAM FOULS:



Whenever a player commits a personal, technical, unsportsmanlike or disqualifying foul, the
scorer shall record the foul against the team of that player by marking a stroke in the
designated spaces in turn. After 8 team fouls, a stroke in the other direction shall be made in
the first box again – creating a large X.
If a technical foul is committed by a player, a technical foul shall be charged against him as a
player foul and shall count as one of the team fouls.
If a technical foul is committed by team bench personnel, a technical foul shall be charged
against the coach and shall not count as one of the team fouls.

All disqualifying fouls shall not count as team fouls.

The scorer should notify the umpires when a team has 7 (or more) team fouls in any half.
TIME OUTS:
Whenever a team calls a Time Out, the scorer shall record this by marking a large “X” in the
designated Time-Outs spaces.
JUMP BALL:
At the game start jump ball, the directional arrow shall be moved to point in the opposite to the direction
of the resulting play. After this point, the scorer will change the direction of the arrow each time the
umpire calls a “jump ball” .
