Dear Dodge Ballers!
We thank you for your interest in participating in Children’s Safe Harbor’s second
annual I Dodged a Ball for a Kid dodge ball tournament. We hope to provide you
a fun filled day of action, sportsmanship and community. The tournament will be
held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Rockford College located at 5050 E. State St.
in Rockford, Illinois. The games will be held in the Seaver Physical Education
Center. The tournament is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM and the championship
round should be completed by 4:00PM.
The event will be a 32-team tournament. Teams will play for 15 minutes. The
team with the most wins after 15 minutes of play will move on to the next round.
Each team will be made up of 6-12 players with six (6) players engaged in
competition.
The team entry fee for the tournament is $200.00. A team uniform or matching
t-shirt is required of each team player. We suggest that each team seek local
sponsorship for their entry fees and required team t-shirt. We have enclosed a
Children’s Safe Harbor brochure to aid you in your efforts.
Upon receipt of the registration material and entry fee, your team will be assigned
a team number that will be used to assign the brackets. Numbers will be
assigned in the order that the required paperwork and entry fee is received.
Should we receive team registrations after the field of thirty-two (32) is filled, your
team captain will be notified and given the option of being placed on the “on call”
list. This list will be utilized should we have any cancellations prior to and up to
the day of the tournament.
In addition to the dodge ball tournament, we will be offering several items for bid
at our silent auction along with food and drinks for purchase. We encourage all
players to invite their friends and family to come out and support them, cheer on
the competition, bid on the silent auction items and to help us make this a
successful, exciting and fun filled day!

Also enclosed in this packet is a copy of the tournament rules, a team roster and
waiver. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or
guardian. Please submit the completed forms* along with a check payable to
Children’s Safe Harbor to:

In closing, please remember that the purpose of the dodge ball tournament is to
have fun and support Children's Safe Harbor. We expect a lively tournament but
please help us curb the overly enthusiastic competitive spirit. Let’s play nice,
respect the officials and most importantly have fun.
