T-Ball
For our youngest players, boys & girls age 4-6 as of May, 1, 2017. A softer ball is used. At least one year
of T-Ball is strongly recommended before play in the older leagues. Potty Trained Required to play.
Baseball
All levels play in the national Cal Ripken certified league, Sebago-Long Lake League.
Rookie League is for children age 7-9. Everyone will play. A pitching machine is used. If a child turns 10
before May 1, 2017, he or she cannot play in this division. Participants will not be able to move from TBall to Minor League.
Minor League is for children 8-12. Some children 8 or 9 will be better off spending another year in
Rookie League while others are ready for Minor League. If a child turns 13 before May 1, 2017, he or she
cannot play in this division.
Major League is for children age 9-12 who have played one or more years on a Minor Team and who
know the sport well. Babe Ruth League is for boys who will turn 13, but are not yet 16, on May 1, 2017.
Tryouts will be announced at a later date.
Softball
The softball age of the participant is as of January 1, 2017. U8, U10 and U12 Leagues will play in Lake
Region Youth Softball.
U8 is for children that are under the age of 9 by 1/1/17. If the child turns 9 before 1/1/17 she must play
in the U10 level. Coaches pitch in this level and it is much more instructional.
U10 is for children that are under the age of 11 by 1/1/17. If the child turns 10 before 1/1/17 she must
play in the U12 level. Athletes begin pitching at this level.
U12 is for children that are under the age of 13 by 1/1/17. If the child turns 12 before 1/1/17 she will not
be able to participate in this level.
