How satisfied are you with that? 3 Develop your own resources • On Line • Books • Health Department 4 Be sensitive to trauma 5 Unit 1: Intro • Purpose: • Develop open communication so concerns about sexuality can be discussed; give residents a better understanding of the physiology of their bodies; discuss the role of love and self-image (self-love) in sexuality; weed out myth from fact concerning sexuality. • Introduce use of notebook for course. 6 Unit II: Relationships • Purpose: • People form relationships to combat the fear of aloneness • How love can be expressed – eros and agape • The different types of relationships – psychic, physical, homosexual, heterosexual • The place of self image (selflove) in human relationships • The place of love for others in human relationships 7 Unit III: Girl Parts • Purpose: • Information About the growth and development of the female from youth to sexually active female 8 Unit IV: Boy parts • Purpose: • Information About the growth and development of the male from youth to sexually active male 9 Unit V: The Big O • Purpose: • Information about the physiology of human sexual response • Viewpoints from staff and group about the purposes of the sex act • Discussion of things that effect the sex drive 10 Unit VI: Pregnancy and Childbirth • To provide information about the physiology of human reproduction, pregnancy, and childbirth 11 Miracle of Life Excellent review of biology of the male and female, reproduction, and development of baby from zygote to fetus, and delivery of child. 12 Unit VII: Contraception • Purpose: • Learn about and evaluate various methods of contraception • Discuss reasons why people choose different methods of contraception 13 Unit VIII: Abortion • Purpose: • Provide information about abortion • Help residents think about abortion in regard to their own values 14 Unit IX: STDs • Purpose: • Learn the importance of exercising responsibility in sexual Relations • Provide information about STDs 15 Unit X: Choices/Values • Purpose: • Discuss responsible and rational decisions in making intelligent choices of a sexual lifestyle • Explore personal values 16 Unit XI: Sex Games It’s a Girl!
