South Orange and Maplewood players age 8 through 15 AS OF AUGUST 1, 2017 are eligible to play. This program is sponsored by the South Orange Department of RecreaPon in affiliaPon with NFL Flag. All teams will be named aSer an NFL football team, and players will receive belts, flags and game jerseys with NFL logos and colors. NFL Flag rules and regulaPons have been adopted for use. Detailed rules for the program can be found on the NFL Flag website. QUICK INFO: • Season will run from September 16 – October 28, 2017. • Games will be played on Saturday aSernoons (3-‐6 pm) plus some Thursday evenings (6-‐9 pm). • PracPces will begin aSer Labor Day Weekend and most likely will be Tuesday & Thursday evenings. • RegistraPon fee for the upcoming year is $100/child. REGISTRATION FOR RETURNING PLAYERS (Including those wait-‐listed last year): • Will begin Monday 4/3/17 and must be completed by 4/15/17. • RegistraPon must be completed in person at the Baird (5 Mead St., South Orange). • A completed registraPon form must be submieed along with payment of $100. REGISTRATION FOR NEW PLAYERS – IN PERSON AT THE BAIRD, 5 Mead St. South Orange • Will begin at 7:00 pm on THURSDAY, APRIL 20, 2017. • Each player must be registered in person by a parent, guardian or responsible adult. RegistraPon of mulPple un-‐related players by a single adult will not be permieed. • Adult must present an original birth cerPficate or passport AND a completed registraPon form for each player. • In accordance with NFL Flag guidelines, brackets are determined by players’ ages as of August 1, 2017. We cannot accept children who will not be 8 by 8/1/17 or who will turn 16 before that date. • The registraPon fee of $100 will be due in full at Pme of registraPon. • RegistraPon is first-‐come, first-‐serve and will be limited to a total of 240 players (10 players per team). We will make a wait list if demand exceeds supply. PLAYER ASSESSMENTS – ALL REGISTERED PLAYERS MUST BE ASSESSED for the purpose of balancing teams. PLEASE BE SURE TO ATTEND ONE OF THE ASSESSMENTS: • The first assessment will be held on Sunday, 5/7/17 between 3 & 6 pm. • A makeup assessment will be held on Tuesday, 5/9/17 at 6 pm. • MORE INFORMATION WILL BE FORTHCOMING AFTER YOU ARE REGISTERED.
