CULTURAL NEWS We welcomed JUAN CARDOSA, a new Student to Grade 11, this week – we hope he will soon settle into our Woodlands Family. MINI UNITED NATIONS DEBATE The Senior College now has 350 Students from Grade 7 – 12. We are excited by how many Students have applied, specifically for Grade 8 next year, and we already have Students on a waiting list. Thank you to Mr. Dos Santos and the Teams who went through to Roedean last Friday afternoon. We know that this would have been a most worthwhile experience. A reminder that should any of our Students Grade 7 – 11 be leaving Woodlands at the end of 2016 please let us know ASAP, we are already in the PLANNING stage for 2017. Our Interact Members will have a training session on Saturday as they prepare to hand over to the next members for 2016/2017 session. A lot of time, energy and hard work has gone into this Cultural event. SRC NEWS TEKKIE TAX – 27 MAY – Next Friday we support Tekkie Tax – it will be a CIVVY Day, and please wear your tekkies. TICKETS ON SALE – From Mrs. Neilson. SPORTS NEWS OUR SPORTS STARS CONGRATULATIONS JUNIOR HOCKEY BOYS BODEN CUP: Our Junior Boys played in the Boden Cup last weekend and won all of their matches. Unfortunately, the shocking weather caused their match on the Sunday to be postponed. They will play in the Final of their section on THURSDAY 26TH MAY at 19H30 at St Stithians College. We wish them the greatest of luck – you have already played so well as a Team! Thanks to Ms. Alexander, Mrs. Wilson and all the Parents involved – we eagerly await the results and encourage as many supporters as possible who can go to watch their game to please do so. They had a wonderful morning with the residents who were very thankful for their visit. They all enjoyed each other’s company very much and made a rainy day a happy one! The kindness and empathy of our Students is truly amazing and we are so proud to have such wonderful children as part of our Woodlands Family!!!
