Docklands Firelight Festival Event dates: 30 June to 2 July Location: NewQuay Promenade This winter we introduce a festival of creativity, fire and food. Local artist Christian Patton will create three large sculptures to be ceremoniously set alight each night, while choreographed fireworks, fire drums and an array of barbecue food will add to the exciting atmosphere. Bug Lab: Little Bugs, Super Powers 1 whatson.melbourne.vic.gov.au/winter Event dates: 23 June to 15 October Location: Melbourne museum An immersive exhibition by the wizards behind the costumes and practical effects featured in The Lord of the Rings, King Kong and Avatar.
