Bowl for Special Olympics Edmonton
On Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Bonnie Doon Bowling Lanes 8330-82 Ave.
Come out to help us celebrate our 28th Bowl for Special Olympics Edmonton. Join us for an
afternoon of pins and prizes as we raise money to support the athletes of Special Olympics
Edmonton.
Special Olympics Edmonton was formed in 1974 to give people with intellectual disabilities the
opportunity to participate in organized sports training, recreation, and competitive activities. Today over
550 Edmonton athletes participate year round in 37 sport programs. The programs give them the
opportunity to realize their full athletic potential, to gain new friends, and to have a physically and
emotionally healthy body.
Special Olympics Edmonton relies on its sponsors, volunteers, the community, and fundraisers like the
Bowl for Special Olympics Edmonton to fund all its programs. The organization receives only 1% of its
funding from government sources.
We invite all Edmonton and area businesses to join us and support Special Olympics Edmonton and the
28th Anniversary of our annual Bowl for Special Olympics Edmonton.
There are a number of ways your organization can help:

Form a Team of 4 and raise money through pledges of at least $100 per bowler

Donate a prize for the silent auction

Donate items or vendor coupons or bags for the participants’ registration bags

Donate items for door prizes

Sponsor a lane, printing of the program, or other sponsorship opportunities
There are so many ways to get involved in this event that makes such a difference in the lives of
our Special Olympics athletes. This year we have set a goal of $65,000. All companies will be
recognized for their contributions and support. A donation of $10 or more is eligible for a tax
receipt.
