Donations
The events committee needs your help. We were asking for donations (bath sets,
chocolates, vouchers etc.) for raffle prizes. All money raised will be donated to the Maggie
Centre in Dundee. Donation should be given to the Home Economics department before
Friday.
Raffle tickets will go on sale next week. Let’s raise as much money as we can for this
worthwhile cause!

Forres News:
Forres House Charity Drive - How Many Sweets?
We are currently raising money for Roxburgh House. To do this Forres House representatives
will be coming to your register class and asking you to guess how many sweets are in the jar.
Its 50p a guess with no restriction on the number of guesses you can have.
The winner wins the whole jar.
Volunteers – Your House Needs You!
We are looking for 2 representatives from each year group to work with us preparing Forres
activities. If you are interested in getting involved let us know or leave your name with Mrs
Easton (Science room 2, 4205) during registration.

It is International Hour of Code Week!
Learning to code is a valuable tool it will help you to develop and nurture problem-solving
skills, logic and creativity
Please follow the link https://hourofcode.com/uk it is a short video clip of inspirational
figures from the world of technology, business, sport and politics who all explain why
learning to code is a valuable skill for learning, life and work.
In Computing Science this week
S1, 2 & 3 will build code to control your favourite characters from Moana, Minecraft,
Star Wards, Frozen and more.
NAT 4/5 will build websites using HTML & CSS and/or develop Visual Basic Programs
Higher will develop Visual Basic programs to read and write from file. We will also
write Python code to control hardware!
Advanced Higher will write searching sorting algorithms
First Lego League will use MindStorm to control their Lego Robot
If there is any pupil who would like to try out some coding this week but are not part of a
Computing class, please drop into 4305 on Tuesday or Thursday.
Pupil Council Meeting
The next pupil council meeting will take place on Thursday December 8th 2016 in the Science
Space (Room 4216) during lunchtime (12.20 to 13.10). You may bring your lunch with you.
If you cannot attend you must let Mrs Easton (Room 4205 Science 2) know in advance.
Ski Trip
The following pupils still have forms to hand in. The information from these forms has been
sent off to Interski already for everyone else going on the trip as the deadline was last week.
It is therefore essential that you hand them to Mrs Leppard (room 4113 or Social Subjects
staff base) as soon as possible so that you can be added to the group!

House Assemblies: Week Beginning 5th and 12th December
House assemblies will be taking place during the week beginning the 5th and 12th December.
The arrangements are as follows:
1. Pupils should register first and listen to the bulletin.
2. Class Advisors should then bring their classes to the Dining Centre by 8.55am at the
latest.
3. Assembly will last until 9.10am.

The Christmas Panto
19th and 20th December 2016 at 7pm
Save the date! Come to the yearly 6th year panto to see your teachers live in action this
festive season. It will be funny or that bad that it will be funny, anyway, come see!
Tickets will be £3 and be on sale soon from sixth years in registration, classes and around the
school and they will also be available from the school office soon.
For 6th years only; please visit the 6th year notice board to see the wide range of roles
available to help us with the panto, it won’t go ahead without set, and technology helpers
(just some of the roles) and of course actors. Location and time will be posted here and on
the 6th year Facebook page (if any 6th years want added let us know)
AUDITIONS (don’t worry not formal just come along and we will make sure you get the best
role for you! Not really auditions just making sure the panto goes along well).

Lost Property
Various items of lost property that is stored in the medical room must be collected by end of
term (Friday, 23rd December 2016). If not collected, it will be binned.

Arrangements
It is important that any pupils who receives assessment arrangements in SQA exams ensures
that they use these arrangements for all assessments.
If you have an assessment in class you must either:
Complete a Self-Referral form (available from the Guidance Base) and return it to Mr Milne
or Mrs Robertson
Or
Ask your class teacher to inform Mr Milne or Mrs Robertson that you have an assessment
requiring support.
