Leongatha Basketball Association Newsletter August 2016 In This Issue • Spring Season • Lightning • AGM • VJBL • Aussie Hoops • Level O Basketball Coaching Course NOTICE of AGM Wed 14th September 7pm Scorpion Park Cricket Horn St, Leongatha Spring Season Welcome to Leongatha Basketball Associations Spring Basketball season. The Committee have attempted to make all junior teams as even as possible. However, we allow the first 3 weeks to monitor teams and make adjustments to ensure the competition is as even as possible. Please support the committee during this process as it is not an easy job. It has been great to see so many players returning and lots of new players to basketball. This has increased the number of teams in some age-groups which is fantastic for basketball in Leongatha. On the down side, we have had to move some timeslots to allow for children playing two age groups with 12 boys having a late game. Please make sure you support and encourage all players in the team. Please Note: LBA have introduced no outside balls in the stadium whilst games are in progress. If you bring a ball to the stadium, please put it in your bag or behind the LBA desk and collect on your way out. Lightning Lightning squads and coaches have been selected for 2016/2017. It has been a difficult process to select the squads, with some children unfortunately missing out. We hope that these children continue to work hard on their skills and come back next year bigger and better. For the first time in a long while, we have 2 teams in the U12 boys. This is very exciting for LBA to have such interest and depth of playing talent to offer two teams. We wish all our teams the best of luck for the season.
