RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

The event will be run under The Pony Club Eventing Rules 2017.
Competitors are required to produce hats at the Secretary’s desk when collecting
their number. All riding hats must conform to Pony Club Rules 2017. Competitors
may not compete without a tagged hat and must wear this at all times when
mounted with the chinstrap fastened. A jockey skull with no fixed peak must be
worn for all Cross Country at 0.80m and above.
3. Back protectors and medical armbands are compulsory for the cross country
phase. Air jackets ARE NOT to be worn under any item of clothing. Armbands
MUST be worn on the arm.
4. Jackets must be worn by competitors for the Showjumping phase.
5. No jewellery is allowed.
6. The judge’s decision is final in all matters. The Committee reserve the right to
cancel, add or amend any of the conditions or competitions, as they think fit and
to refuse entry at their discretion. Objections must be lodged in writing within 30
minutes of the incident, together with a £10.00 deposit, which will be refunded if
the objection is upheld.
7. Withdrawals can be made without forfeit up to the close of entries on Saturday 8
April. Withdrawals made after 8 April will only be refunded with the presentation
of a doctor’s or vet’s certificate (less £5.00 administration fee)
8. In the event of cancellation prior to the event a £5.00 administration charge will
be made. If the event is cancelled on the day there will be no refund.
9. Entries will be limited and will not be accepted by telephone.
10. Horses and ponies may only enter two classes.
11. All Pony Club members not holding a ‘B’ Test Certificate must produce a letter of
permission from their DC allowing spurs to be worn.
12. Please take all litter and droppings home with you.

organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of
these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss,
damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents
and accessories, or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their
negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only
accepted on this basis.
Health and Safety: The organisers of this event have taken all reasonable precautions
to ensure the health and safety of everyone present at this event. For these measures to
be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent
accidents. They must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and
stewards.

JUDGING:
The least jumping penalties Showjumping and Cross Country – combined
– plus nearest the ‘Bogey Time’ in the Cross Country will determine
results.
CROSS COUNTRY:
Competitors will be eliminated after 3 refusals at one jump, after 4 refusals
over whole course or 2 rider falls. Riders may only continue on the course
with permission from a Petersfield Official/Jump Judge or Steward.
SHOWJUMPING:
In classes 1 and 2 Competitors eliminated show jumping will not be
allowed to go cross country (excluding technical eliminations).
NOTE:
 Failure to report 15 mins before the correct times for Show
jumping and Cross Country will mean the rider risks elimination.
 A tack check will be in operation before each phase.
 Hats must be tagged and must be checked at Secretary’s desk
when collecting number. Tagging can be done at the event as
long as hat meets necessary standards.
 A £5.00 deposit is needed to collect your number
 Competitors will show jump before cross country and times will
be given for both
